2010 Tennessee School Boards Association Award
Cope utilized both architectural design and planning expertise for the major addition and complete renovation of the school. The finished product seamlessly integrates old and new, and major additions and renovations were completed while the school was still in full occupancy, using a phased construction approach.
Phase One, included construction of the new addition, which was isolated from the rest of the building to increase safety and security during after hours community use. Phases Two & Three, included complete roof replacement and re-purposing of the old gym into a new music and choral program. Security and traffic flow issues were also addressed.
