Oak Ridge National Laboratory Melton Valley Support Facility – Oak Ridge, TN
Cope Architecture provided design services for the ORNL Melton Valley Main-tenance Support Facility, a design/build project with Hickory Construction. It houses the maintenance functions for the High Flux Isotope Reactor campus at ORNL. It is three stories and achieved a LEED Gold rating.
The first floor includes a high bay with a bridge crane. It also has multiple work-shops for the different disciplines (welding, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical). The second floor has offices, a locker room, kitchen, and a multi-purpose dining room. The third floor holds a large meeting room with space for future offices.
